Erotica

Good Dick is a film about a woman who watches erotica, not porn. If you don't know the difference:

"Erotica is as different from pornography as love is from rape, as dignity is from humiliation as partnership is from slavery as pleasure is from pain" Gloria Steinem

Hi Marianna;

I agree completely with the distinction and that it makes a difference with respect to the message. I wanted to let you know, if you didn't (and this might be exactly what you're responding to, in which case nothing to see here), that the capsule summary of the film in TV listings and on for instance Amazon refers to what the character watches as porn (on the on-screen TV listing it's "soft-core porn").

I'm not sure to what extent you have any kind of editorial control over it at this point, but there it is.

I loved the film. All the best.

Disingenuous B.S.

Steinham approves of erotica because she likes erotica. If she liked porn, porn would be "okay".

She declares from on high that bondage and sexual humiliation are "bad" because SHE isn't into that.

I am, and I think they're WONDERFUL. And yes, I was abused too, by my stepfather, so I'm in "the club". I'm allowed to talk about it. You can't say "oh, you don't know what it was like, Faith".

Everyone's scared of their sexual feelings, like the girl in your movie.

You need to read Camille Paglia.
